Hello, my name is Jon Smith.

I had the privilege of attending a very unique High School named High Tech High. They focused on Real-World Application and made the environment more business casual. We addressed teachers by their first names and they treated us with respect.

High Tech High allows teachers more freedom on the structure of the class and students the ability to choose their interests. That being said, I quickly learned my way around Photoshop, After Effects, Flash and Final Cut Pro and spent the next four years taking every class assignment and asking to produce either a short film or animation.

In the Fall of 2008, I was asked to travel to Uganda and film for Invisible Children, a media-based non-profit. After three months, I returned and was hired on as an editor/animator.

In May of 2010 I was again asked to film overseas, but in Bangladesh. Sadly, I could only take the job if I ended my time at Invisible Children. I chose to do so.

Upon returning, I decided to start doing freelance.

I have not looked back since.
